Understatement is a street photography project involving flash close up photography I developed throughout the years. It involves using an off-camera flash highlighting details seen in the streets. I am very attracted to the details of the ordinary things which could easily go unnoticed. The flash helps me highlighting those specific details which are important to me.
Understatement is a statement that describes something in a way that makes it seem less important than it really is. Hence, an understatement makes something look bad or less serious.
