Stellenbosch University Alumni Networking Event

  • Assignment: This alumni networking event was an intimate occasion in which people with the same interests gathered to talk about familiar topics. The center topic was the Stellenbosch University in South Africa, and Dr. Manelisi Genge, the Ambassador of South Africa to Belgium, was present to give a speech as well. The night concluded with drinks and networking. My task was to document the ambiance, lectures, and networking during the evening with my photography.

Everybody dancing during the Skills for the Future event in Brussels

EU Skills for the Future Summit

  • Duration: 9 hours
  • Venue: Solvay Library, Brussels, Belgium
  • Assignment: The EU Skills for the Future Summit was a vivacious event that I had the chance to cover with my photography. Students from Slovenia, Hungary, and southern Italy gathered for a day full of activities, workshops, and even dancing. The idea was to discuss different current topics related to sustainability in the EU. At the end of the day, the students had the chance to present their ideas and get honest feedback from a jury composed of professionals and academics. This was definitely one of the most dynamics events I have covered.

Animal Rights Volunteers Party

  • Assignment: The volunteers’ party was an initiative from Animal Rights to show appreciation to all its volunteers with a warm morning/afternoon together. With a brunch, a quiz, and a surprise goodie bag from other supporting organizations, volunteers had the chance to further connect with the staff from Animal Rights.

Breaking Point - Solving the European Wildlife Rescue Crisis

  • Client: Eurogroup for Animals
  • Date: Wednesday, November 13, 2019
  • Duration: 2.5 hours
  • Venue: European Parliament, Brussels, Belgium
  • Assignment: This conference was to put together in the same room different actors from Europe to tackle the various problems they face regarding wildlife. Across Europe, there is a significant demand for facilities able to house seized, confiscated, and surrendered exotic animals. Rescue centers, sanctuaries, and many zoos in Europe play a critical role in ensuring the welfare of these animals and supporting enforcement efforts. My assignment was to document the conference, its actors discussing and interacting with each other.

MCE - Putting children in migration at the core of the EU

  • Client: Missing Children Europe

  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Venue: European Parliament, Brussels, Belgium
  • Assignment: “Putting children in migration at the core of the EU” was a roundtable-conference that enabled newly elected MEPs, representatives of Member States, staff from the European Commission, UN and EU agencies and NGOs to discuss opportunities to further the implementation of the European Commission’s 2017 Communication on the protection of children in migration. My task was to document the conference and all its speakers in their exchange of ideas.
